Letter from Organizers

Destiny Riders Motorcycle Club was established in 2003 by friends who were riding together for a number of years. The vision of the club is to uplift the image of motorcycling and to assist in the uplifting of the community of Atlantis and its surrounding areas of Mamre and Pella.

Since Destiny Riders Motorcycle Club was established, we have hosted six fundraisers in the form of “sleepovers”. We were able to provide generous donations to institutions such as DAWN School for the disabled, Saxonsea Job Creation & Feeding Scheme and assisted a learner at Robinvale High School to attend an international sports event.

In 2008 the club donated R5000.00 to the Motorcyclists Association of the Western Cape (MAWC) Buddy Fund in memory of a member who had passed on due to a motorcycle accident. Destiny Riders MCC was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the MAWC for the generous donation it received and applauded the club as it was the largest monetary donation it received to date.

Food hampers were provided to the under privileged in the community before the Christmas holidays in 2010 and in 2011. Club members conducted a needs analysis at Old Age Homes in Atlantis. It was established that non-perishables were needed, the most which was provided for the Festive season and a washing machine could also be donated to one home where they were washing clothing and bedding by hand.

Our beneficiary for 2012 is four-year-old Kristin Swarts who has been diagnosed with an incurable Cancer tumor and it is not possible for Doctors to operate as the tumor is anchored in the brain stem.  This is an extremely important part of the brain as the nerve connections of the motor and sensory systems from the main part of the brain to the rest of the body pass through the brain stem. However her parents have found a Doctor in Houston, Texas who is able to treat Kristin.

Her parents have exhausted their medical aid and Mrs. Swarts resigned from her employment to have access to her pension to pay for Kristin’s medical costs.  As a club we have decided to make a monetary donation to Kristin’s Trust fund, which will help pay for her medical costs.

We would be grateful for sponsorship pertaining to your business, and trust that you will grasp why we require your assistance. Our aim is to host a successful event and raise enough funds to help Kristin as a cancer survivor. As a club, we always strive to uplift and give back to our community and with your help we can surely make a difference in the lives of Kristin and her parents.

We are hoping for a favorable response at your earliest convenience.

Thanking you kindly.

 Yours in biking
